Chic lighting : faites le bon choix

Chic lighting is the visual signature that elevates a refined interior above an ordinary setting.

Chic lighting becomes the focal point of your decor, combining style with effective illumination. You’ll find options from ceiling lights and pendant lights to wall lights or floor lamps, each serving a particular function depending on the room and desired atmosphere. Sizes range from a grand chandelier 80 cm wide for the dining room to sleek 25 cm pendants, perfect for kitchen islands. What sets chic lighting apart? Impeccable finishes: brushed brass, hand-blown glass, cut crystal, gold or matt black metal, sometimes matched with luxurious materials like marble or solid wood. Chic lighting does more than illuminate – it shapes the space, highlights architectural features and brings out the character of your furniture.

What materials and finishes for chic lighting?

Hand-blown glass: Celebrated for its clarity and soft light diffusion, hand-blown glass works beautifully in both pendants and ceiling lights. A 30 cm glass globe delivers 800 to 1200 lumens, perfect over a dining table or in your lounge. Glass

Crystal: Cut crystal multiplies the sparkle and makes the most of every ray of light. A chic crystal chandelier with LED bulbs of 8 to 12 W per arm adds a spectacular touch to your hallway or dining room. Crystal lighting calls for regular dusting with a microfibre cloth to keep its shine. Crystal chandeliers are best suited to rooms over 15 m² to avoid overwhelming the space.

Gold or matt black metal: Gold or black metal finishes define a room and work equally well in contemporary and classic interiors. A chic brass ceiling light, 40 cm wide and fitted with an 18 W LED (1800 lumens), will light up a 20 to 25 m² lounge to perfection. Simply clean metal fittings with a soft, slightly damp cloth and avoid abrasive products.

What brightness and hanging height for chic lighting?

Living room: For a 25 m² living space, choose chic lighting providing between 2500 and 3500 lumens, with a warm colour temperature of 2700 to 3000 K. The ideal hanging height for a chic pendant is 210–230 cm from floor level – high enough for easy movement, while drawing the eye.

Dining room: Above the table, install your chic pendant 75–80 cm above the tabletop. A 90 cm design will beautifully light a 180 cm table. For a sophisticated ambience, opt for 2000 to 2500 lumens in warm white (2700 K). Designer pendant lights let you experiment with shape and scale to amplify your room’s style.

Bedroom: In the bedroom, chic lights should be gentle: a 30 to 40 cm ceiling or pendant light, 1200 to 1800 lumens and 2700 K colour temperature is ideal. For the bedside, a chic wall light in brass or glass, casting 400 to 600 lumens, introduces an elegant accent to your space.

How to match chic lighting with the rest of your decor?

When choosing chic lighting, consider the materials already present in your room. Modern interiors pair well with gold or matt black metal pendants, while classic decor is enhanced with crystal or glass. For a cohesive look, combine your chic lighting with a designer mirror or a tasteful rug. In the dining room, a chic crystal chandelier is the perfect match over a solid wood table, while minimalist pendants emphasise a pared-back space. Coordinate metal finishes on your lights with door handles, frames or metallic accessories to guarantee flawless visual harmony.
