In the bedroom, a soft and soothing light is essential for creating a relaxing atmosphere. The moon wall light provides gentle illumination, perfect for cosy evenings or enhancing a reading nook. This wall fitting adds an elegant, contemporary touch to your space.

Moon wall lights : faites le bon choix

The gentle glow of a moon wall light brings the softness of a moonlit night into your home while providing precise, decorative lighting.

A moon wall light is a distinctive choice for adding atmosphere to any room, whether it's a bedroom, hallway or living space. Inspired by celestial curves, these wall lamps come in a range of shapes: half-moon designs from 20 to 40 cm in diameter, full discs from 25 to 60 cm, or 3D textured versions for an authentic crater effect. This decorative lighting combines style and function, emitting a soft, often indirect light that creates a soothing ambience without glare. The most advanced models feature integrated LED technology from 6 to 18 W, delivering 400 to 1500 lumens with colour temperatures ranging from 2700K (warm white) to 4000K (neutral white) to suit every setting.

What materials and finishes are available for moon wall lights?

Plaster wall lights: Plaster creates a matt white or tinted surface that mimics the moon's texture. It diffuses light beautifully and can be painted to match your wall. Plaster models are generally between 25 and 40 cm in diameter and 7 to 12 cm deep, making them ideal for narrow spaces.

Metal wall lights: Aluminium or steel, often finished in white, gold or black lacquer, gives a contemporary touch to your moon wall light. These versions are prized for their durability and easy care. Brushed or matt finishes highlight the celestial feel, while gold details add a refined accent. Glass wall lights: Opal or frosted glass diffuses even light without harsh shadows, perfect for bedrooms or relaxing spaces. Glass moon wall lights are available in single or double layered styles with diameters from 20 to 50 cm, suiting minimalist or Scandinavian interiors.

Integrated LED wall lights: LED models offer exceptional energy efficiency and a lifespan of 20,000–50,000 hours. Some come with dimmer switches or remote controls so you can tailor the brightness to the time of day or occasion. For more LED options, see our LED wall lights page.

Where to install a moon wall light and how to choose the right one for your room

In a bedroom, a moon wall light is ideally installed 120–140 cm from the floor, above a headboard or on a side wall. Choose 6 to 10 W LED (400 to 800 lumens) and a 2700K colour temperature for a relaxing effect. Models with opal diffusers eliminate harsh shadows for a cosy, enveloping light.

For hallways or entrances, select moon wall lights 20 to 30 cm across, spaced every 2–3 metres for uniform lighting. Each unit should provide 600 to 1000 lumens to ensure safe movement without glare. Double emission models (up and down) enhance perspective and highlight your space’s features. For other ideas, discover our hallway wall lighting selection.

In living rooms, a moon wall light can be a decorative focal point over a sofa or sideboard. Opt for large designs (40 to 60 cm) for a statement look, pairing them with 12 to 18 W LED output (1000 to 1500 lumens). Dimmable models let you create the right mood for everything from reading to evening entertaining. Pair with ceiling lights in simple designs for a cohesive look.

How to coordinate a moon wall light with the rest of your decor

Your choice of finish should reflect the other elements in your room. A white or plaster moon wall light blends effortlessly into minimalist or Scandinavian settings, while gold or black brings graphic contrast to contemporary interiors. For perfect harmony, match with black wall lights or metallic accessories.

Natural materials such as wood or rattan soften the moon’s graphic look and add warmth. In children’s rooms, opt for moon wall lights with gentle, flicker-free lighting and check for at least IP20 protection. For a poetic ambience, combine with a cloud-shaped light or pastel textiles.

Maintenance depends on the material: a dry cloth works for plaster or lacquered metal, while opal glass should be cleaned with a specialist product to avoid marks. Check fixings regularly, especially for larger or heavier models.
